Dazzled

It is more than a year. I got marri, started a new life and enjoying it. But one thing i noticed earlyer is that i was dazzled by the new situation and missed and lost things once I liked.

My problem with MTU

It was along time about 6 month I had problem logging into some sites like Yahoo, Firefox,....
thanks to the expedient It was solved today.

"why you have to learn English"

The other day, I received an email with this picture attached quoting "why you have to learn English."
"Cause you don't walk into a mosque with such a T-shirt."
When I was a teenager in Iran about two decades ago, we were banned to wear clothes with signs or slogans. It seems to me now that the leaders knew we were too illiterate to know what we had put on.
The same thing is happening now but in an opposite manner not for signs or slogans but for color.

Seven Pounds

First I had no idea what film I would see. I had a feeling of Seven and a bit of 21 Grams. The movie put me into a puzzle in his first half and showing some clues of the whole picture.
Will Smith played very well. I like the films which concentrate on one character to reveal his/her aspects of the personality. He played his role to make me believe the character rather than the old roles he played.
The movie became so emotional at the final scenes that I can't believe it is an American movie.
I don't like to say anything about the movie because I liked it very much and don't want to spoil the story more. Find a good time, place, mood and even a partner to see and enjoy.

Tonight, we Iranians celebrate the Yalda Night (longest night of the Year) welcoming the arrival of Winter. Wishing you all a memorable party along with your beloved ones, friends and family.

I also wish a Happy Christmas for all our Christian friends and a prosperous New Year ahead.

The Comedy we play in

Yesterday was the impeachment of Iran's interior minister, A live comedy that i can't miss.
He was so under pressure and stressed that he could not read correctly the text typed on paper in his hands. He also had lost the line once that the Members of Parliament told him that he had read those before. When reached to the final defense before voting he had nothing to say to the question set in front of him and just filled the time with none of important material.
I totally recall the impeachment of Mohajerani and that was a real defensive speech. May be changing the building of the Majlis is the main reason for the changing the strategy of the new ex-minister.

RICHARD WRIGHT - 1943-2008

It is with much sadness that we bring you the news that Richard Wright passed away today (September 15th), after a short struggle with cancer. It goes without saying that he will be greatly missed.

Tributes to Richard have been arriving here from around the world, as news reaches fans. He was much loved, and respected, and the shock and sadness within the Pink Floyd community at his sudden passing will reverberate for some time. It has been very difficult to come up with appropriate words to recognise Richard and the huge part of our lives he became. A very sad day...

We know that you will join with us in offering our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

The Kite Runner is a book interpreted into movie. I saw the movie recently and may read the book later. Homayoun Ershadi was my only reason to see the film. He played Baba in the movie. The context of the film was so fine that I forget the Ershadi's acting and devoted my attention to a very good film and story.

The above quotation is from Baba told his son a philosophy in a very simple way. A very minimalistic sentence from a man in a very complicated country.

The title of the post is a phrase from two characters of the movie. they tell this in joy and ran out of the story.

Lessons!

Last night I was reading one of my friends` blog in which he had written about the lessons he learned from his previous relationship. I read it again and almost agree with it But still asking why ...

In this country, most of the girls are the same... No matter what they say, no matter what they do, they just aim for one thing... Some of them say little lies, some say BIG lies, both just for the same achievement; "MARRIAGE"... In my case, she used the version named : "Massive Huge Lies"... For her, only her goal was important, neither me nor the relation, And I'd done much more than she deserved, but I won't be the fool anymore... It was not too hard to reveal the real she, but after I knew the truth, it nearly killed me... As an old saying says : "What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger", it didn't kill me, but helped me to know these deceiving creatures a little bit more... So Don't try to know your girl by what she says when she's in your arm... Know her by what she does during harsh times.

Akbar Radi

I first go to theater as a serious watcher in high school times. Then most of groups play foreign acts. Lately , thanks to one of my friends, we discovered Iranian writers and find a good group directed by Hadi Marzban and saw 3 or 4 plays written by Radi. I like them very much due to his cultural and national point of view.
Anyway we lost him recently in sadness.

TEHRAN -- Iranian playwright Akbar Radi died of cancer on December 26 at Tehran’s Pars Hospital. He was 68.

Akbar Radi was born on October 2, 1939 in Rasht, Gilan Province. His family moved to Tehran when he was still a child and he continued his studies in the Iranian capital.

In 1955, he became familiar with the works of author Sadeq Hedayat and began to write. His first story, “Dead Mouse”, was published in the Tehran daily Kayhan and he later became interested in playwriting.

In 1959 he participated in a story writing competition held by the Tehran daily Ettela’at and won first prize for his story “Rain”.

But his love for playwriting was still within him and he penned his first play “Blue Hole” in 1960.

Around that time he met poet Ahmad Shamlu, who liked “Blue Hole”.

From the beginning of his career in the field, his skill in playwriting and his power with words drew the attention of the giants of Iranian theater. His works were compared with the plays of Anton Chekhov and Henrik Ibsen.

Radi himself even believed that in some of his plays the track of Chekhov’s style of writing could be observed.

Radi regarded his birthplace Gilan as his permanent domicile and had a nostalgic feeling about the province. He had great interest in the memories of his childhood and depicted them in his plays with scenes and sets like big houses with several rooms, wood ceilings, carpets from Kashan, gardens with lots of flowers, and even foggy weather and rain.

His play “Melody of Rainy City” is about his beloved Gilan Province. His feeling for the place is so strong that he named one of the main characters in the play after the province.

“Melody of Rainy City”, “The Descent”, “The Fishermen”, “Death in the Autumn”, and “Slowly with the Rose” are some of his plays.

His plays the “Glorious Smile of Mr. Gil” and “Beneath the Passage of Saqqakhaneh” were recently staged by director Hadi Marzban.

He was last seen in public early this year at Tehran’s City Theater Complex during the closing ceremony of the play “Glorious Smile of Mr. Gil”.

Inside Man

In this 2006 movie, we see a hostage situation in which you see a detective (Washington) tries to persuade the bank robber (Owen) to release the hostages, and a powerful woman (Foster) about to keep a secret unfold.

Although in this movie you hear the name of "Dog Day Afternoon", it is far too different. In that the bank robber do not know what to do next but in this the bank robber do as scheduled and know what he wants.

Lately when you saw a film and the characters wanted to refer to something they mentioned a book but in these days they mention a movie. In other words, written literature is gradually replaced by a literature based on movies and TV shows.

Any way I can call this movie a "who's the boss game". Every main character in the movie is going to show "I am the boss." The Captain, the bank robber, the detective, the old banker, the mayor and the powerful woman all tries to prove that the situation is under control by him/her, even the Albanian women entered as a translator shows it by smoking a cigarette.

Spike Lee always refers to race problem in his movie. I think the turban scenes are good examples of how different the people react to a piece of clothing.

The Shawshank Redemption

The Shawshank Redemption is a powerful modern movie. It projects the view that achieving rational values is possible if one thinks and acts -- even when trapped in a corrupt, brutal environment.
